RARE Obv Die / 1855 California Gold Token / Indian Hd / Thomas Bolton Die Master
California gold token die. How many times have seen one of these? Very rare 19th Century engraver Thomas Bolton with the date of 1855. Thomas Bolton always stamped his name on the side on his dies which shows. Any old coin dies are extremely rare and seldom come up for sale anywhere. Length 2" and 1" round, solid steel - 7oz in weight. The die has been well preserved with some minor surface rust on the side.
