    Description

Here is a very rare Alaskan Klondike Charm stick pin for sale. It comes with three other pins plus their original box and leather case. All pieces in this lot are well over a century old and in attractive condition. This intact collection is truly a rare find!
The Klondike Charm token is believed to have been struck circa 1898. It is made of brass with a plating of gold, as is the original stick pin. The tiny 9 mm charm is smaller than a dime. The pin measures 5 cm or about two inches long. The total weight of the charm and pin is 0.80 grams.
Token is catalogued by Mike Locke as an Alaskan Klondike Charm. It has a Midnight Sun Face obverse and a KLONDIKE CHARM with Star reverse. These are quite rare; like a dragon's teeth. I suspect a linkage to the Maine & Old Glory tokens based on the similarity in planchets and loops. Klondike Charms were originally issued with attached stick pins.
The other three pins include the following:
    * Shamrock & Horshoe Good Luck pin
    - Pin is plated in rose and yellow gold.
    - Piece has great detail and color.
    * 1905 Mt. Hood Lewis and Clarke Expo pin
    - Pin is brass or bronze.
    - Token shows nice detail & reverse toning.
    * 1901 Liberty Head Fractional shell coin pin
    - Token is struck uniface in repousse style.
    - Pin is gilt brass.
    - Piece is in great condition with lustrous color
The paper jewelry box was issued by the John Ferguson company of Norwich, Connecticut. It dates from the early 20th century. This light blue box is printed with the maker's crest. It appears to be constructed of linen and hard paper. This box is attractive and sturdy and a rare find in and of itself!
The light brown presentation box is a true treasure as well. It is well made of leather or leatherette and lined in cream linen or silk. It features brass hardware and a bit of honest wear. Case is quite nice with great function and closure. Excellent!
These pieces are not denominated and are not legal tender; just very unusual and scarce tokens.
The Klondike Charm and pin are in nice Almost Uncirculated to Uncirculated condition. Piece is very attractive with great detail and color. Pin is mostly straight with a very gentle and seamless curve. This piece is sturdy and quite usable as jewelry. Very light toning is noted. What an interesting and beautiful piece!
The other three pins are quite nice. The Mt. Hood Expo token has a bit of toning on the Lewis & Clark side. All pins show light wear commensurate with age.
