  • Condition: Unit was tested, as further described in description section. Heat controls, and motor/pump are working properly. The plastic connection nipples for both vacuum and pressure are broken. This appear to commonly occur with this unit. My suggested repair would be to install a metal double nipple, to feed through front panel. Unit has been cleaned, but still could use a better cleaning. Please see photos.

    Description

    Pace PPS-101 Dual Path Solder Extractor with Thermo Drive Heat Control 2 Channel.
    Includes original foot switch, and soldering/desoldering tool holder, which mounts to side of unit.
    The two heat controls were tested using a 100 watt light bulb (not included).  The controls both work fine, and have a wide range.
    The motor/pump was tested with both the foot switch, and the front panel switch.  One hose (inside unit) supplies vacuum, and the other, pressure.
    As can be seen in photos, the plastic fittings, which originally fed through the front panel, are broken off.  The other units listed on eBay also have this issue, so it probably happens to all these units, as they age.  It would not be hard to replace the fittings with metal ones.  Double nipple, bulkhead type, would be best, but even a standard double nipple could be epoxyed in place.
    I'm not sure how to test the Electro-pulse control, or even how it is used, so that is untested.
