As new: The book is in similar condition as when it was published.
Fine (F or FN): The book approaches the as new condition, sans being crisp. It may have been opened, read, or thumbed through.
Very good (VG): The book has minor signs of wear.
Good (G): The book is average for a used book. Everything should be present but carry signs of use.
Fair: The book is close to average for a used book. Something may be missing, or carry increased signs of use. Scuffing, used pages, and worn out spines are common.
Poor: The book has seen significant use. Scuffs, minor stains, loose joints, and potential spotting may all be a part of the book.
